In October 2016 OpenUp Digital partnered with the Bournville Village Trust (BVT) housing association to deliver the Digi-Fayre 2016 digital inclusion event, which helped 120 older people become more digitally confident.
In autumn 2016 the national environmental charity Groundwork UK commissioned OpenUp Digital to write a set of online articles to encourage more people to choose Groundwork UK work experience placements.
Since autumn 2016 OpenUp Digital has been working with New Outlook housing association in Birmingham to help blind and partially sighted residents get the most out of digital communications.
In May 2016 OpenUp Digital helped NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit promote its award-winning U Assure information governance solution via a targeted Google AdWords campaign.
Between autumn 2015 and summer 2016 Francis served as product lead for Helpful Technology’s Digital Action Plan, a straightforward, personalised learning programme to help teams develop the skills and confidence they need to get the most out of social media and other forms of digital communication.
Francis worked as Marketing and Communications Manager for Ark Rose Primary Academy and Ark Kings Academy, two rapidly improving schools in Birmingham which form part of the Ark network, one of the country’s top performing academy operators.
In 2013 and 2014 Francis taught the introduction to web design course at mac Birmingham, the pioneering arts complex. Francis designed the lessons around helping learners get the most from free and low cost digital tools such as WordPress.com blogs, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr.
As digital communications lead for Bournville Labour Party, Francis designed and managed the online campaign for Councillor Mary Locke’s successful 2016 local election campaign.
